May 15, 2023 Meeting with
Senator Branning and Representative Hood

Let's get ready to VOTE!

July 17th, Winston County Republican Women hosted a forum featuring Republican candidates for District Attorney of the 5th Circuit Court District, Rosalind Jordan and Adam Hopper.  Along with, Republican Candidates for Northern District Public Service Commissioner Chris Brown and Adam Newman.

All candidates shared information regarding their background and course of action if elected.

A Public Service Commissioner has a direct effect upon each of our lives. They serve as a liaison for the citizens of their District and will fight for lower utility rates, reliable utility services, expansion of broadband to rural Mississippi, access to clean running water, and an end to the annoying spam calls, along with many other issues that we face daily.

District Attorneys also affect our daily lives. They serve to make the district safer for our residents. They advocate for victims and seek sentences that are consistent with fairness and justice for all.

During this election cycle, The Winston County Republican Women, as always, urge each voter to be aware and look past negative campaigning through polls that may circulate via text or ROBO calls and research the candidate for yourself. We urge voters to meet the candidate if possible, and look at their experience and qualifications to make an educated decision on how you will cast your vote on August 8th.

The District Attorney and Public Service Commissioner race will be decided in the August 8th Primary Election. If you want to have a voice in who holds these offices, you must vote in the Republican Primary.

The Winston County Republican Women and Winston County Republican Party also gave Special Recognition to Ouida Donald who will soon be moving from our County. During her 22 years of membership. Ms. Donald has served in every office of the Winston County Republican Women and she currently serves as Vice President of the Winston County Republican Executive Committee.

Winston County Republican Executive Committee Chairman Mark Forsman was on hand at the meeting to present Ms. Donald with an award for her many years of commitment and service to the Winston County Republican Party. The Winston County Republican Women’s Immediate Past President Kay Forsman and Vice President Tracey Coleman also presented gifts in appreciation to Ms. Donald for her 22 years of dedicated service. We wish Ouida well in her move. She will be missed.

District Meeting 2023

We enjoyed a very informative meeting of the 3rd Congressional District of Mississippi Federation of Republican Women hosted by our Director Dianne Talley Pickering.  Thanks also to those who helped sponsor this meeting, our Senator Jenifer Branning and Congressman Michael Guest to name a few. The food was delicious! Thanks, Dianne, for being such a dynamic leader!
